Categories

Best Short - Stories that have no more than five (5) chapters and are complete.

Best Long - Stories that have more than five (5) chapters and are complete.

Best Work in Progress - Stories must not be finished at the time of judging. Additionally, the author must have updated the story within the last two months.

Best Characterization - Stories with an excellent portrayal of Spike and/or Buffy. Stories do not have to be from either Spike's or Buffy's point of view.

Best Plot - Stories with original and well thought out plotlines. No single episode re-writes, please.

Best Angst - Stories that are sad in nature, but can have a happy ending. Dark!fic is ok here; however, the story should be labeled as such.

Best Lighthearted - Stories that are happy or lighthearted.

Best General (non-Spuffy) - Stories that do not center around one particular pairing. (Think character studies or friendship fic.) Stories nominated in this category cannot be nominated in either Best Het or Best Slash.

Best Het (non-Spuffy) - Stories that center around other male/female couples in the Buffy-verse. (Do not have to be canon.) Stories nominated in this category cannot be nominated in Best General.

Best Slash - Stories that center around a male/male or female/female relationship in the Buffy-verse. Stories nominated in this category cannot be nominated in Best General.

Cheerleader Award - This is where authors get a chance to thank that "special" reader. You know, the one that keeps your muse happy and motivated.

Best Author - Authors are chosen by the Rogue Poet admin and are based on nominations received.

Reader's Choice - Stories are chosen by the Rogue Poet admin based on nominations received. The readers vote for their pick.
